Newton County Jail is a 735-beds regional correctional facility in Jasper, Arkansas. It houses about 622 inmates under the supervision of over 171 staff members. The Newton County Jail is operated by Newton County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Newton County Jail holds more than 462 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 17% of them being women.
