Jail records, court & arrest records, mugshots and even judicial reports
There are a variety of facilities in the state where inmates may be held, including state prisons, federal prisons, and county jails.
Florida has over 50 state prisons located throughout the state. If you're looking for someone who is currently incarcerated in one of these facilities, your first step should be to visit the Florida Department of Corrections website. From there, you can use their inmate search tool to look up individuals by name or DC number.
To search for an inmate using this tool, simply enter their first and last name or DC number (if known) into the appropriate fields and click "Search." You'll then see a list of matching results that includes each individual's name, DC number, race/ethnicity, gender, release date (if applicable), and location.
There are several federal correctional facilities located throughout Florida as well. These include:
High-Security Federal Prisons in Florida
Medium-Security Federal Prisons in Florida
Low-Security Federal Prisons in Florida
Minimum-Security Federal Prisons in Florida
To search for an inmate who is being held in one of these facilities, you'll need to use the Federal Bureau of Prisons' inmate locator tool. This tool allows you to search by name or BOP register number.
Once you've entered your search criteria and clicked "Find," you'll see a list of matching results that includes each individual's name, age, race/ethnicity, sex, release date (if applicable), and location.
Florida has over 60 county jails located throughout the state as well. To find someone who is being held in one of these facilities, your best bet is typically to contact the specific jail directly.
Most county jails have websites with contact information listed on them. You can also try searching online using the name of the county along with keywords like "county jail" or "inmate search."
In addition to searching directly on facility websites or contacting jails individually, another option is to use Vinelink. This website allows you to search for inmates across multiple states at once.
