Story County Jail is a 699-beds regional correctional facility in Nevada, Iowa. It houses about 613 inmates under the supervision of over 125 staff members. The Story County Jail is operated by Story County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Story County Jail holds more than 530 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 15% of them being women.
