To search for Kentucky state inmates, you can use the Kentucky Department of Corrections' online offender search tool. This tool allows you to search for inmates by name, offender ID, or prison location. To use the search tool, follow these steps:

  2. Click on the "Offender Search" link. 
  3. Enter the inmate's name, offender ID, or prison location in the search fields. 
  4. Click on the "Search" button.

Vinelink is a free, online service that provides victims and concerned citizens with information on the custody status of offenders in Kentucky. The service allows you to register to receive notifications by phone, email, or text message when an offender's custody status changes. To use Vinelink in Kentucky, follow these steps: 

  1. Go to the Vinelink website. 
  2. Select "Kentucky" from the list of states. 
  3. Enter the offender's name or offender ID number. 
  4. Select the appropriate search criteria. 
  5. Review the search results and register for notifications. 

Searching for Kentucky Federal Prisoners: 

To search for Kentucky federal prisoners, you can use the Federal Bureau of Prisons' online inmate locator tool. This tool allows you to search for inmates in federal facilities across the country, including those located in Kentucky. To use the inmate locator tool, follow these steps: 

  1. Go to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. 
  2. Click on the "Inmate Locator" link  
  3. Enter the inmate's name, BOP register number, or DCDC number in the search fields. 
  4. Click on the "Search" button. 
  5. Review the search results and click on the inmate's name to view more information. 

There are several federal facilities located in Kentucky, including the United States Penitentiary McCreary and the Federal Correctional Institution Ashland.
