Bergen County Jail is a 732-beds regional correctional facility in Hackensack, New Jersey. It houses about 617 inmates under the supervision of over 153 staff members. The Bergen County Jail is operated by Bergen County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Bergen County Jail holds more than 540 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 19% of them being women.

Bergen County Jail was founded in and named after Hackensack, a popular associate justice at the Supreme court of New Jersey.

Sending a Mail/ Package

Inmates at Bergen County Jail can send and receive mails from loved ones. These are, however, strictly inspected to prevent the entry of contrabands. The mails are processed through the US Postal Services.
