Seminole County Jail is a 715-beds regional correctional facility in Wewoka, Oklahoma. It houses about 696 inmates under the supervision of over 130 staff members. The Seminole County Jail is operated by Seminole County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Seminole County Jail holds more than 533 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 19% of them being women.
Seminole County Jail was founded in and named after Wewoka, a popular associate justice at the Supreme court of Oklahoma.
