Cooke County Jail is a 743-beds regional correctional facility in Gainesville, Texas. It houses about 613 inmates under the supervision of over 178 staff members. The Cooke County Jail is operated by Cooke County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Cooke County Jail holds more than 488 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 15% of them being women.
