Knox County Jail is a 755-beds regional correctional facility in Benjamin, Texas. It houses about 690 inmates under the supervision of over 141 staff members. The Knox County Jail is operated by Knox County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Knox County Jail holds more than 467 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 19% of them being women.
