Smith County Jail is a 682-beds regional correctional facility in Tyler, Texas. It houses about 667 inmates under the supervision of over 124 staff members. The Smith County Jail is operated by Smith County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Smith County Jail holds more than 463 federal inmates daily.
