Iron County Jail is a 736-beds regional correctional facility in Cedar City, Utah. It houses about 640 inmates under the supervision of over 122 staff members. The Iron County Jail is operated by Iron County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Iron County Jail holds more than 538 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 15% of them being women.
Iron County Jail was founded in and named after Cedar City, a popular associate justice at the Supreme court of Utah.
