Sussex County Jail is a 766-beds regional correctional facility in Sussex, Virginia. It houses about 622 inmates under the supervision of over 168 staff members. The Sussex County Jail is operated by Sussex County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Sussex County Jail holds more than 544 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 17% of them being women.
