Broward County Main Jail is a 765-beds regional correctional facility in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. It houses about 688 inmates under the supervision of over 180 staff members. The Broward County Main Jail is operated by Broward County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Broward County Main Jail holds more than 453 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 16% of them being women.
