Fulton County Jail is a 745-beds regional correctional facility in Atlanta, Georgia. It houses about 630 inmates under the supervision of over 172 staff members. The Fulton County Jail is operated by Fulton County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Fulton County Jail holds more than 496 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 15% of them being women.
Fulton County Jail was founded in and named after Atlanta, a popular associate justice at the Supreme court of Georgia.
