Wilkes County Jail is a 691-beds regional correctional facility in Washington, Georgia. It houses about 679 inmates under the supervision of over 149 staff members. The Wilkes County Jail is operated by Wilkes County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Wilkes County Jail holds more than 525 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 17% of them being women.
