Knox County Jail is a 717-beds regional correctional facility in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. It houses about 629 inmates under the supervision of over 166 staff members. The Knox County Jail is operated by Knox County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Knox County Jail holds more than 460 federal inmates daily.
