Duval County Jail is a 726-beds regional correctional facility in San Diego, Texas. It houses about 689 inmates under the supervision of over 127 staff members. The Duval County Jail is operated by Duval County Sherriff, Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal U.S. Marshal, among other major agencies. Consequently, in addition to housing local offenders, the Duval County Jail holds more than 536 federal inmates daily. The largest population of inmates here are men, with just 16% of them being women.
Duval County Jail was founded in and named after San Diego, a popular associate justice at the Supreme court of Texas.
